Lightweight 20 g/m² carbon fiber veil for composite lamination. Due to the electrical conductivity of carbon fiber, the veil can be used in laminates to reduce static electricity and increase electrical conductivity.
The veil can be laminated into a composite structure, for example as a conductive surface layer. However, when designing structures for static electricity control, it should be noted that a thick, resin-rich surface layer reduces the effective dissipation of electrical charge.
The lightweight and porous fiber structure absorbs a relatively large amount of resin, which also makes the carbon fiber veil suitable for creating a resin-rich surface layer. The surface veil helps smooth out the texture of the underlying reinforcement and reduces print-through on the surface of the finished laminate.
