Product Information
PVC Foam Sheet 60 kg/m³ 10 mm Plain with Scrim, 1225 × 1150 mm
PVC foam sheet is widely used in lightweight construction as a core material in sandwich structures. For example, in boatbuilding and boat repairs, it is one of the most common basic materials.
The sheets are ideal for applications requiring both light weight and strength, especially in boats and other structures where good fatigue strength and minimal water absorption are required from the laminate. PVC foam is suitable for use with all common resin systems.
The scrim on one side of the sheet supports the material during handling, moving and installation. It helps keep the sheet manageable during work and does not limit normal cutting, shaping or laminating. The scrim can be especially useful when fitting the sheet into place, handling it in smaller pieces or if you want to create your own grid pattern.
Features and benefits |
- An Excellent strength-to-weight ratio enables lightweight and rigid structures without unnecessary weight.
- Chemical resistance and minimal water absorption — the material is not easily damaged in humid conditions.
- Good thermal insulation properties and stability under temperature changes.
- The scrim makes the sheet easier to handle, move and fit into place.
- The scrim provides additional support for the material without interfering with normal processing or laminating.
Applications:
- Panels for boat and marine parts, such as decks, hulls and bulkheads
- Wind turbine blade structures
- Components for the aerospace and transport industries
- Sandwich panels for the construction industry, such as roofs and walls
The choice of sheet density and thickness depends on the loads, stiffness requirements and weight limitations of the application. The compatibility of the laminating and bonding method should also be taken into account.
