CARBON FIBER TAPE 200 G/M2 75MM
Carbon fiber tapes are an easy-to-use solution for local reinforcement of composite structures. They are especially suitable for applications where additional strength is needed in specific areas — for example, reinforcing transverse beams on boats or other load-bearing structures.
Weight: 200g / m2
Width: 75 mm
Tow: 3K
Weave: Plain weave 0/90
The edges of the tapes are finished to prevent fraying during handling or use. Carbon fiber tape with a plain weave means the fibers are woven in a classic plain weave pattern, where warp and weft yarns cross alternately — one over, one under — creating a fabric or tape that is even, dense, and easily formable.
The tape’s weave determines the fiber orientation and behavior. In UD (unidirectional) tapes, all carbon fibers run parallel to the tape’s length. These tapes have light stitching that holds the fibers in place across the width without affecting the laminate’s strength. In biaxial tapes, carbon fibers are arranged in two layers at ±45 degrees relative to the tape’s longitudinal direction. This structure offers improved torsional stiffness and multi-directional strength.
Carbon fiber tapes are suitable for reinforcing both thermoset and thermoplastic polymers and are chosen especially when an excellent strength-to-weight ratio is required. Their lightness, high tensile strength, and stiffness make them an ideal material for technical and demanding composite structures.
