Body Double Silk
Body Double™ SILK is a platinum-cure silicone specifically designed for direct application to the skin to create detailed molds. It is self-releasing and ideal for lifecasting projects such as face and hand molds. The material cures quickly and captures even the finest surface details with high accuracy. The silicone also releases cleanly from areas with body hair, such as short beards, mustaches, and eyebrows. A separate release cream is usually not required, which simplifies and speeds up the molding process..
Application
The cured mold can be used for multiple castings with various materials, such as plaster, wax, and resins. Working time is approximately 6 minutes, and cure time is around 20 minutes, depending on material, environmental, and body temperatures.
Parts A and B should be stirred thoroughly in their original containers before measuring. Dispense equal parts (1A:1B by volume) into a clean mixing container and mix thoroughly. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the container to achieve a uniform color.
For best results:
Mix for 60 seconds, then transfer the mixture to a second clean container and mix again for another 60 seconds before applying to the model. Apply using a wooden spatula, brush, or gloved hand. Always apply in the direction of hair growth..
Body Double™ SILK bonds to itself, so additional layers can be applied if needed. Add new material as soon as possible. When applying new silicone over cured material, carefully blend the layers to minimize visible seam lines. The final mold thickness should be approximately 0.6–1 cm. Along the outer edges, the thickness should be at least 1 cm to ensure strength and tear resistance. Allow the silicone to fully cure before creating a support shell.

Once fully cured, the silicone should be gently removed from the model’s skin. The model should be encouraged to provide feedback during removal to ensure comfort and safety.
Safety
We recommend performing a small patch test on the back of the hand to check for possible allergic reactions. If any reaction occurs, discontinue use. Body Double™ SILK is intended for external use only. Do not ingest or use inside the mouth.
For face molds, the silicone can be applied over closed eyes. Before doing so, apply Body Double™ Release Cream to eyelashes to prevent encapsulation. This material must never come into contact with open eyes.
